Palm Treo 600 and 650

The Treo 600 and Treo 650 ("Treos") manufactured by Palm, Inc. appear to fail at unacceptably high rates. Green & Noblin, P.C. has filed a class action on behalf of all persons who purchased a Treo 600 or Treo 650.

On January 18, 2006, our case was consolidated with five others and an Amended Consolidated Complaint was filed against Palm, Inc. On August 3rd, two more cases were held to be related and were joined with the consolidated group. Robert Green of Green & Noblin, P.C.. has been appointed as a member of the Executive Committee which manages the collective cases.

Treos suffer from extremely poor sound quality and buzzing, choppiness, speakerphone problems, poor and broken screens, phone crashes, software crashes and electrical surges. According to the lawsuit, when Palm replaced class members' phones in response to these problems, it replicated the problems by providing consumers with refurbished phones subject to identical issues.

The complaint states that Palm, however, represents to the public that its Treos are quick, dependable and reliable hand-held organizers and mobile telephones. While Palm is aware of the problems surrounding its phones, Palm requires that all consumers pay for shipping and packaging to repair or replace its own defective products.

The complaint alleges that Palm is in violation of the Consumer Legal Remedies Act and California's Unlawful Business Practices and False Advertising Law. The plaintiff seeks injunctive relief requiring Palm to cease its unlawful practices as well as other relief including restitution and disgorgement of Palm's profits.
